Heat treatment is a core process for high-strength bolts and studs. It determines tensile strength, yield strength and fatigue resistance, which is the key difference between ordinary and high-strength fasteners.
The process includes quenching and tempering. In quenching, formed fasteners are heated to high temperature and cooled rapidly to improve hardness. In tempering, low-temperature reheating and slow cooling are applied to eliminate internal stress and prevent brittleness.
Fasteners with standard heat treatment have balanced hardness and toughness. They are resistant to fracture and deformation under long-term vibration and repeated load. Precise control of temperature and time is essential for qualified products.
Do not reheat or weld high-strength fasteners arbitrarily, which will damage internal structure and reduce strength. Please fasten products according to standard torque during installation.
